The Meeting

Urged by a wave that keeps rolling up and
out, unfurling
tilting my chin skyward and pulling open
my jaws
words tumble out exposing an ocean's worth
of secrets.
In my mind I let the salty frigid water wash
over you
I watch your mind's shelter darken and drag
with understanding.
Patterns bloom, imprinting in the grains of
your being.
I can taste as I retreat, a thousand stories
to tell.
Endless and ancient we're somehow
miniscule, expansive.
I've been waiting for us to convene these past
few years,
simply searching for shore, for understanding,
an undiscovered beach.
