Tangled Up in Blue, Tangled Up in You

            Falling in your uneven smile
Following the corners of your mouth
as you close your eyes
I can't be sure.
            Holding your gentle words
Coming closer, slowing down
with carefully chosen meanings
I want to do everything.
Pushing each other back from addiction
Loosing ourselves in gravity
under tangled bedsheets and strong, healing hands
I can step off the stage.
Resisting the precipice for so long
Pulling back uncontrolled breathing
through trembling lungs-until we let our desire breathe
I feel our bodies tremble, and release.

Post

E n v e l o p e

fold me into sharp cornered shapes

rescuing my contents from harm
and tuck me inside travel-safe arms

shut the door, please make it safe

allow me to enjoy the ride
I relish the thought of being inside.
